Reviews
This is a great hotel located right in the centre of Ponferrada, but in a quiet side street. It is perfect for pilgrims on the Camino if you want a change from the public albergues.
The rooms are a bit small, but for the price, this hotel is a very good value.
The bathroom is very clean. The bed is soft and wonderful.
It is very central and at the same time very quiet. A simple hotel but very comfortable. Withung walking distance to the two main plazas (right in the middle of both main plazas surrounded by restaurants and about 4 blocks from the coin laundrymat.
Worst (and only) bad human interaction I ever had with a hotel during the whole Camino. They even go out of their way to make it harder for you. Never experienced anything nasty like at this place. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for something else.
Historic Ponferrada is beautiful and this hotel puts you close to it all. The hotel is clean and well worth the price. They messaged us on how to check in and left the keys to our room waiting. Great location, good beds, and super clean!
We wanted to twin beds and received a double bed. For two 63 year old guys this is too close for comfort. We didn't get much sleep.
We are brothers but not a good time had!
Wonderful stay here during my camino. Really appreciated the hotel staff, one of them helped me print my tag for the Correos and even offered a plastic cover and safety pin to allow me to secure it on my back. Over and beyond what is required. Also liked the fact that it was tucked away from the crowds and that my room had a small terrace with a view of the nice roofs of the adjoining structures and the clock tower, and a short walk away from the major sights. Take note though that the clock tower bells could get a bit loud, but it only rang once when I was there, and closing the terrace doors dulled the sound. Room itself was good size for me (although might not be okay for bigger or more people), bed was very comfortable, and bathroom was nice and clean. I like the fact that the hotel is saving on electricity and that you only turn on the light light at the stairwell when needed. The hotel restaurant was closed when I stayed there.
Flavourless pasta. Wine like vinegar. Meat like shoesoles. Fries like cardboard. Only thing they did not screw up was the desert. Even at €10 the Menu del Dia felt like a rip off. Go to the tapas bar around the corner and get 7 tapas and a great bottle of wine for €9 instead!
Nice small rooms
